Forget your horrible internet connection for a brief second, PlayStation Now just got relevant. If, for whatever reason, streaming is not your thing, PlayStation Now will roll out an update the next couple of days that will allow you to download PS4 and PS2 games to your local PlayStation.
With this comes the benefit of PS4 Pro support, as well as all DLC and micro transactions you may have bought for the game. You will also be able to play multiplayer games through your Now subscription without having Plus. You will however need Plus if you want to continue a save from the Now save cloud if you decide to download the game, as the transfer goes from Now to Plus to Local, and not directly from Now.
Shoddy internet or not, this is a great option for a lag free experience. You will need to be online every couple of days though so PlayStation Now can handshake and verify that you’re allowed to play the local games or not.
If you don’t see the option to download right away, hang tight as this is being rolled out over time.
