Nordisk Film, the company that handles PlayStation PR in the Nordic Countries, has acquired not some of, but all of Avalanche Studios – the studio behind games like Just Cause, Mad Max and the upcoming Rage 2. Having previously owned a minority stake in the studio, Nordisk Film will by the end of June have acquired all shares and thus be the owner.
Business will be as usual with no interference from Nordisk Film, leaving Avalanche to do what they do best with little to no noise from above.
The acquisition is a part of a long-term goal for Nordisk Film to build a portfolio of Nordic development studios. They already have minority ownership in other studios.
Avalanche Studios has a pool table, which makes me jealous.
