If your biggest ambition in life was to hack a crane, you’re in luck. Watch Dogs 2 (there’s an underscore in there somewhere but I misplaced it) will let you do that and more in the follow-up to the rather lackluster Watch Dogs. You are playing as Marcus Holloway in an attempt to shut down the sinister ctOS 2.0 that fudged up a bit and wrongly accused you of crimes you didn’t commit. It’s set in the San Francisco Bay Area and you’ll drive cars, run on rooftops and invade other people’s privacy left and right.
Dominic Guay, senior producer at Ubisoft Montreal, pointed out that the hacking mechanics in Watch Dogs 2 will feel more meaningful, which the lack of in the first game was a common criticism.
There’s a November 15 release date, so unless there’s dire need for polish at the last minute, you’ll be able to get your hacky hands on it this year.
