What a day for Hitman fans, huh? IO-Interactive announced today that Hitman will in fact be truly episodic. It was previously planned as a bit-sized game but not to the extent revealed today. The first part will be a prologue and the Paris location on its launch date of March 11. The following month you’ll be able to strangle people in Italy and May brings sunny Morocco. Continuing the trend, Thailand and the US will follow while the “season” itself ends in Japan. They consider it a live game meaning that weekly events and goals will be added between each big update to spice up your everyday homicidal tendencies.
The launch pack can be yours for $15 and each new part thereafter will be available for $10. You can also choose to buy the whole thing for $60. All of this will be digital only until the retail disc is released at the end of the year.
Additionally (yes, there’s more), PlayStation owners get a bunch of exclusive contracts called The Sarajevo Six in which you’ll be hunting down very particular targets in each of the locations available. If you buy any of this or the collector’s edition you are guaranteed into the beta that begins on February 12th.
Speaking of collector’s editions, there is one and it’s full of the things you love to be in one including:
· The game (digital download)
· 10” Agent 47 “Chessmaster” Statue
· 60-page art book (hardcover) curated by Jonathan Rowe (Art director)
· Agent 47 iconic red tie and clip set
· A fancy box in which the above is neatly packaged.
It is priced at $139.99, £109.99, €139.99
