I have a weakness and that’s point ‘n click adventure games (including those you write in). The genre has always been a favorite of mine. It requires patience, it’s not something you usually rush through and they are games that don’t push you around or nag at you to go somewhere within a certain amount of time. With the recent release of King’s Quest and the long line of Telltale games out there, adventure games aren’t going anywhere. Where Telltale pulls the genre in a new, perhaps more modern direction though, I’m still a sucker for the old kind.
If you’re into these kind of games you might recognize Pendulo Studios. They did the pretty brilliant Runaway series on PC, and the first Yesterday game which was also released on PC. Together with Microïds they are now taking the jump to PlayStation 4 and I’m extremely happy to see that. Yesterday Origins will carry on the look and feel of the Runaway games and will be optimized for each platform it’s released on. Hopefully that means the control scheme will make as much sense as you’d expect.
Not a lot is revealed about the game yet, except the fact that you will explore two timelines at once, current day and medieval times. Sounds good to me!
