SOMA has been in development since 2010 and will finally see the light (or dark) of day on September 22. If you’re curious how the game is shaping up, we’ve included 10 minutes of gameplay in the video below. Have no idea what to expect? Here’s a little bit about what Thomas Grip from Frictional Games has to say about it:
We didn’t want SOMA to be just another ‘run from the monster’-affair. While it does have that sort of thing too, as our gameplay video shows, the horror runs way deeper. The aim with SOMA is to explore the unsettling aspects of subjects such as consciousness, identity and our very existence. We didn’t want to do this by simply having some ham-fisted exposition now and then, we wanted the player to experience this first-hand.Thomas Grip, Frictional Games
