Based solely on the 16 minutes of gameplay below, Middle Earth: Shadow of War is taking what was a rock solid foundation from Shadow of Mordor, and going all kinds of bonkers with it.
It’s really easy to think that some of the scenes depicted below are scripted, but they keep insisting that no two stories will be the same for players, so that will be something we discover at a later point. What is clear though, is that the nemesis system is back, sometimes with a vengeance, sometimes with a hug. You will be creating armies, staging outright wars and you’ll be doing this with new powers that may or may not look completely nuts depending on your view of all things Lord of the Rings. I’m pretty sure someone was overpowered for that walkthrough because god damn, stuff happens.
Middle Earth: Shadow of War will be out on August 25.
