Umbrella Corps will be released in May, comes with single player horde mode

Umbrella Corps is the game that people keep scratching their heads about, but also the game that keeps on giving. What we already knew is that it’s a multiplayer shooter set in the Resident Evil universe, so today Capcom lifted the veil on a couple of existing things as well as some new.

First of all the game is to be released in May 2016, which is basically right around the corner if you’re horrible with time. It will support up to six players across various modes, but they have also revealed a single player horde mode named The Experiment. Sounds scary. It contains 20 missions without the survival tools offered in multiplayer, and then it’s up to you to fight off increasingly harder waves of baddies.

Locations are being pulled from fan-favorite Resident Evil 4 and not so fan-favorite Resident Evil 5 among other things, which means you’ll be able to not only shoot your friends in the face in the Village from RE4, but you also have to avoid being eaten by the Ganados. The enemy presence from the various games is a nice touch.

There’s a trailer and some screens below for your viewing pleasure.
