Triple the potential with FuturLab’s Abertay University collaboration

After an initiative by the Abertay University, FuturLab and some 20 students have teamed up to develop prototypes based on briefs supplied by FuturLab. While FuturLab focuses their attention on wrapping up Velocity 2X, the two teams are tasked to prototype a Velocity spin-off, as well as a new concept altogether. These prototypes will be shown off at the end of year.

This is a pretty neat initiative that will give the students invaluable experience and feedback, and might also end up as two brand new games. It’s a win for everyone.

As a small team of ten working hard on Velocity 2X – our most ambitious title yet – it’s been quite a challenge to remain focused on what’s coming next, so having an opportunity to effectively triple our workforce to create prototypes for a year without risk is fantastic. It’s also a great opportunity for the students as they’re able to benefit from mentorship and regular feedback to hit the high standards that we set for ourselves.James Marsden, FuturLab’s Managing Director
