The DualShock 4 light bar is here to stay

At least according to president of worldwide studios Shuhei Yoshida. He’s an avid Twitter user, and upon the question of whether a future update would enable users to turn off the light he replied “no”. That answer is almost as clear as some people seem to see the reflection in their TV’s. May I suggest buying a better TV? I’m kidding.
