Except for the super crisp intro in Motorstorm, Heavenly Sword was one of the few games that really wowed me back in the day. And despite its brutally bad Sixaxis implementation, I still have fond memories of the game. Nariko was pretty cool!
Anyway, here we are, at the beginning of a new console launch and there’s a CG movie being made for one of the early – and in my opinion, great – exclusives to shine on the PS3. I think it’s a bit of a missed opportunity though. First of all it is a CG movie, and I would very much want to see a live action adaptation instead. Second, the CG in this one doesn’t look very good. I mean, it’s fine, but you could almost just be better off just assembling all the cut scenes from the game, which someone did of course.
The good news is that the voice talent seems pretty solid. Anna Torv reprises her role as Nariko, and she is joined by Thomas Jane and Alfred Molina. Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think.
