So, how about that online gaming, huh? With Watch_Dogs, The Division and the newly announced The Crew, Ubisoft keeps pushing their online/multiplayer effort in new directions. The focus on creating big open worlds for people to mingle in seem to be the theme of this year and the next. The Crew is no different. A persistent online world is filled with players you can either befriend or piss off. Together you can cooperate to accomplish collective challenges and free roam across the whole of USA. Creative director Julian Gerighty has this to say about the game:
“We want to give players a driving experience that goes way beyond the classic circuit-based racing games and really captures the boundless sense of freedom of driving across the U.S. Our teams are harnessing the power of next-generation platforms to make The Crew a challenging, immersive and non-stop world that can be shared by millions of players. This is a brand new driving game experience unlike anything that’s come before it.“
As a part of Ubisoft’s strong line-up at E3, this is certainly one of the games I can see myself spending some time in when it arrives early next year. Check out the announcement trailer below and visit the game page for more videos and information.
