Sony not exactly trembling at the thought of Wii U

According to Vice President of marketing over at SCEA, John Koller, Sony is comfortable with the comparisons drawn between the  Wii U and the Vita/PS3 crossover capabilities.  The Vita might even have an extra card up its sleeve, seeing as it’s a standalone console and is more versatile.

Pointing at statistics, he said that almost all Vita owners also have a PS3, but that the crossover functionality is dependent on content:

“It’s dependent on the content. So we need to make sure the content isn’t force fed. And, to us, making sure that the gamer receives the right type of experience is what’s most important. So we’re gonna pick our spots, but that technology does certainly exist here.”

And who knows what the future holds? There have also been mentions of a hardware bundle, and Koller said that it’s a common request from retails. For now though, he’s happy with the majority of gamers already being prepared for the crossover functionality between the consoles.

What do you think? Do you welcome the crossover with open arms?
