Ooh, look at all those pretty colors

Transcripted is a mix of two genres, twin stick shooter and match three puzzle game. You’re in control of this thingamabob called a Nano Probe. Apparently it’s a teeny tiny gadget used to eliminate  disease, but that’s not important, just look at all those beautiful colors! As you progress you will be able to upgrade the little gizmo’s equipment, health, shields, weapons and all those things that make life worth living. But hell, I can’t stop looking at those beautiful lights. Oh, and there will also be epic boss fights and independently adjusted difficulty levels for those of you that prefer a light cold to a full blown zombie plague.

I’m particularly interested in how the puzzle aspect works in the setting of a twin-stick shooter and the co-founder of Alkemi, Alain Puget, described the game mechanics like this:

Transcripted was born from a random idea we had while tinkering with a pair of fairly classic genres. Throughout the game’s development we worked to create a coherent and original mix of puzzle and shooter gameplay elements that we hope will appeal to, and capture the hearts of a wide range of players.

Be sure to check all the psychedelic screens at the jump.
